Either use vertically or horizontally, having two outlet allows the pump to run a second function such as a filter and waterfall, a spillway with two inlets etc, without the need for "tee"

What we liked:
Superb quality and very quite. They have two outlets making is perfect for running a filter and waterfall or any two separate systems at the same time. Some of our waterfall spillways have two inlets making this pump perfect. We are happy that they can run 24/7. They can be used either in the vertical or horizontal positions.

Less than ideal:
They cannot be used in salt water.

Possible drawbacks:
The price point is higher than the similar pumps we stock, but they they are wonderful value to money based on quality. This type of pump while very powerful for the price, does tend to use more electricity than purpose designed pond pumps
