The pump sitting in the pond pushes water through the external filter either up to a waterfall or directly back into the pond. The filter can either be buried up to the lid or simply sit on the ground.
What we liked
Almost every thing. The back washing system on 10000 and larger models. The lowest profile filter on the market, only 7cm above ground when buried. Fish Mate filters use supra biological media that is more effective than plastic for micro-organism growth. Spiral action over UV lamp to prolong interaction with the UV rays . UV lamp "on" indicator. Great value for money.
Less than ideal
We would have liked to seen a 10m cable, rather than 5m (If 10m is critical see Blagdon Cyclone range).

Supra is developed from a natural source and specially treated to possess over 100 times the biological surface area of conventional plastic media. The specific structure of the Supra enables rapid growth of aerobic bacteria resulting in removal of lethal ammonia and nitrites.
Clearwater guarantee

Three stages of pond water treatment
- Algae Destruction. By slowly passing the single celled algae that cause 'green water' in front of U.V.C light, the algae is caused to clump together and start to die.
